DESCRIPTION: The National
Trust for Scotland owns around 12,000 acres of the southern slopes of Ben
Lawers above Loch Tay in Perthshire. The remains of prehistoric and medieval
archaeological sites attest the area displays extensive evidence for past
human activity. The most numerous traces of settlement belong to
the last 400 years and form one of the best preserved and well documented
landscapes of its type in Scotland. The Field School is investigating the
Medieval and later rural settlements and associated structures.

necessary. Professional archaeologists supervise and provide instruction
in excavation techniques.
